I spent the weekend in Monterey "camped out" in front of the house of I friend I met in Las Cruces while he was on business. We're friends, but I'm strangely attracted to him. It's something that probably is never "meant to be," but it's fun seeing him, checking in on his life, and of course the ballroom dancing.
There's not much to tell, excect for some shared beers, a couple of nice dinners, and some fun dancing. The part that was a disappointment was that I was "briefed" before we went dancing. "I'll dance with you mostly, but old girlfriends might be there and I'll dance with other people." Duh! When I go dancing, I usually dance with other men - it makes one a better dancer. It was just too "in my face."
So, I'm back where I'm in my comfort zone, traveling on the road with Cali. If that's all that God and the universe have to give me, it's a pretty good life all-in-all.
