ONE WOMAN'S JOURNEY ON THE ROAD OF LIFE.....

On the Road Home

Driving home after being gone for several weeks isn't as much fun as starting on a journey.  However, it's STILL part of the journey.  I've decided I couldn't take the long boring route home on "the 5," so I skipped over to the coast and am in Santa Cruz again.  I love this little town.

Yesterday, I stopped in Chico, CA to visit a RV supply shop and the Sierra Nevada brewery.  I found the parts I needed and a little shop installed them for me very reasonably.  Alas, the brewery was "closed" as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was making an environmental presentation that the brewery had recycled the gases into some sort of power.  The bar was open so I had a pale ale and chatted to a nurse who had been outside picketing with some firemen and teachers.  Politics!

I'm in a funky coffeehouse (Cafe Pergolesi) having a mocha and using the wireless network.  For those who are curious, try this link:  http://www.theperg.com/

Last night, I had a very interesting "lodging" experince at the Flying J in Lodi, CA.  Actually, there were quite a few RV's and I parked between two large ones that seemed to "shelter" me.  I had another "power" breakfast of coffee and a Krispy Kreme donut!

I "poked' around in the Goodwill store and the local Salvation Army store had a "moonlight madness" sale where everything was 50 pecent off!  A "professional had quite a load and was ready with her antique book.  She mentioned she made $1,700 this month on eBay.  (She also mentioned it was part-time since she was busy moving!)

Tomorrow, I hope to go to the local swap meet and find some more treasures!  Sunday I'll travel down the coast on 101 and make the journey home.
