Well, the Internet type - not the water type! Today was a good day. I started out at the local Starbucks with coffee and a berry scone.
I went to the local Ross store to look for a small skillet that has grids so I can grill some chicken. No skillet, so I went to look at the shoes. I told myself that I would only look and not buy..... There were some really cute dressy shoes by Nina with ankle straps that I was tempted to buy. Then I found a pair of hiking tennis type shoes that were comfortable and great! So, I bought them. Gee, I knew that the "don't buy shoes" mantra wouldn't work!
Cali and I proceeded to the beach area near the downtown to watch the surfers. Cali is usually such a sweet tempered dog, but today she was barking wildly at the big dogs as we walked by. We stayed parked at the beach all day, where I read, took a "basin bath," or in some circles is known as a Navy bath or P.T.A. bath. (No, I will not explain what P.T.A. means, but it does refer to bodily parts.)
We came to the downtown area, where I had a great Greek salad, piece of Pesto pizza, and a diet Coke from a place called "Pizza My Heart." The library was closed but I ventured to a coffee shop that I had remembered in my previous travels to Santa Cruz. So, now I am connected to the wireless network there and enjoying a double Cafe Mocha. :-) Cali is happy in the RV since I gave her some peanut butter in her Kong before I left.
I talked to my friend in Monterey today (who is out-of-town) in Pennsylvania, and I'm going to visit him on Thursday and go out ballroom dancing on Friday. He's a nice guy and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again.
So, all-in-all it was a good day - good coffee, shoes, and a beautiful beach. I feel blessed.
